EV conversions in New England & the Northeast

Rhode Island based, converting trucks and cars for owners across the Northeast, with consulting and parts for builders anywhere.

Where we work

We're based in Rhode Island. Full electric conversions happen here, and we take vehicles from across New England and the Northeast. Build consulting and parts sourcing aren't tied to location at all — we help people with their own conversions wherever they are.

How a full conversion works from out of state

  1. Conversation — by email, phone, or text: the vehicle, how you drive, what you want from it.
  2. Spec and quote — motor, pack size, range target, and a real parts list.
  3. Drop-off — you drive, trailer, or ship the vehicle to Rhode Island.
  4. Build — with photos as we go.
  5. Shakedown and pickup — commissioning, road testing, and a walkthrough of how to live with it.

New England conditions

Converting a vehicle here isn't the same as converting one in California.

  • Rust — decades of road salt. Frames and battery mounting points get inspected before anything else, and repairs happen before the pack goes in.
  • Cold — lithium cells shouldn't be charged below freezing. The BMS protects the pack during charging, and we talk through heating and where the vehicle will be parked.
  • Heat and defrost — a New England vehicle needs a real plan for cabin heat and a clear windshield, not an afterthought.

By state

Rhode Island

Home base. Our own converted Ford Ranger is registered and driven here. See our notes on registration and inspection for converted EVs.

Massachusetts

The Boston, Worcester, and South Coast areas are a short drive from us, which makes drop-off and shakedown easy.

Connecticut

Eastern Connecticut is close by, and Hartford and New Haven are an easy trip for drop-off and pickup.

New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont

Older trucks and project cars up north are exactly the kind of vehicles that convert well. For longer distances, trailering the vehicle down is usually simplest; consulting can be fully remote.

New York

We take full conversions from New York and consult on builds anywhere in the state.

FAQ

Common questions

Q1Do you do EV conversions in Massachusetts and Connecticut?

Yes. Full conversions are done in Rhode Island, a short drive from much of Massachusetts and Connecticut. Consulting and parts sourcing can happen anywhere.

Q2Can you help with my own conversion if I'm not in New England?

Yes. Build consulting is remote or in person, and we can spec and source a complete parts list for your vehicle.

Q3Do converted EVs work in New England winters?

They do with planning: frame and rust inspection up front, a BMS that protects the pack from charging below freezing, and a real plan for cabin heat and defrost.

Talk about your vehicle

Year, make, model, and what you want to do with it. That's enough to start. We read everything and reply personally.
